What is NOVA?

NOVA is a student success program focused on providing quality instruction and individualized academic and social support services to eligible students. Incoming freshmen who demonstrate potential for academic success are invited to apply for the program, with approximately 100 new freshmen accepted each year.

The goal of NOVA is to promote academic and personal success, ultimately resulting in the completion of a college degree. This is accomplished by a team of friendly, caring and competent professionals and student staff who provides support for NOVA participants beginning with their very first experience as freshmen at Orientation/Registration. NOVA participants have access to multiple learning opportunities through specially designed courses and Study Aboard.

NOVA also offers consulting and referral services for the participant's academic, financial, personal and career needs throughout their academic career at EKU.

NOVA is funded by the United States Department of Education under the TRIO programs as a Student Support Services program.

The EKU NOVA program is a Student Support Services TRIO project, funded at $338,199 in federal funds from the U.S. Department of Education for the 2008/09 fiscal year to serve 206 eligible EKU students. This disclosure is made in compliance with Public Law 108-447 Sec. 506.
